OIE informed that a national simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease (FMD) will take place in the week of November 15, 2021. This Functional Exercise is planned for four days and will include participation from federal, state, and industry representatives from eleven states. The purpose is to practice communication, development of incident action plans and herd plans, implementation of secure food supply plans, and demonstrating the capability to identify and manage resources, in particular those those shared among states.
