The exercise will involve 105 participants, including Veterinary Services, Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, private sector.

The Committee of Veterinary Control and supervision, informed WOAH that a simulation exercise for fish aeromonosis took place on May 26, 2023, in the reservoir Kapchagay of the city of Kunaev, Almaty region, Kazakhstan. The aim was to assess the response preparedness to the occurrence of fish aeromonosis and enhance the control.

The State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic, Prague, informed WOAH that a simulation exercise on highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) and African swine fever (ASf) will take place in the Military Training Area Libavá, Olomouc Region from 5 to 8 June 2023. The aim is to apply emergency measures in compliance with contingency plans, including both theoretical and practical training.

WOAH reported rabies virus in a dog in Pulau Timor. This is a first occurrence of the disease in Timor Island. Animal rabies was detected for the first time after following up report on human rabies. Rabies was detected in Nusa Tenggara Timur province previously but the disease was limited to Flores Island, one of the three main islands in the province.
