OIE reported rabies in a dog in Bremen. The virus was identified in a 8 weeks old puppy brought illegally from Turkey via Bulgaria on 2 September 2021. The dog did not have any contact with other animals. The people who had contact to the dog received emergency vaccinations. The epidemiological investigation confirmed that the rabies-free status of Germany is not endangered.
